Portland Stone Solid Block Steps Rebuild - Kensington, London

A set of Portland stone solid block steps had become worn and tired, with blocks that have slightly nodded forward and that also let water into the room below. Solution was to apply water proof cement, lapped courses of 1200 gauge water proof plastic membrane and then three one metre lengths of Portland base bed with bull nose fronts & sides to each step. Matching risers complete the look and also seal in a new watertight construction. Images show before and after rebuild.
