Detached House Main Entrance Repairs - Hampstead Heath, London

Mid Victorian house beside Hampstead Heath that had been clumsily repaired in 1970's, required two complete plinths built from 80mm wide slabs of Stoke Ground Bath stone. The remains of the original plinth were beyond repair beneath oversize concrete repairs. The roundels below the pier columns were also largely in a state of ruin as was over half of the left column. The photos are self explanatory, although it became clear the unusual bullseye volute caps would also need renewing to match the remainder of the work. The repairs were carried out with the existing glass frame remaining in situ.
